AIPi

 

The PCB AOI(Auto Optical Inspection) equipment extracts too many candidates of defect points with over-detection. As the rule-based algorithms for PCB inspection focus on preventing leakage of defects as much as possible, they react sensitively to tolerances in design and detect many suspicious points. For this reason, all defect points extracted from the AOI inspection will be visually inspected at the phase of VRS(Verification and Repair Station). The visual inspection workload is not only a big cost burden for PCB manufacturers, but also cannot maintain uniform PCB quality due to a deviation for the verification results for each visual inspection worker. Also, when working for long periods of time, the fatigue of the worker increases and human errors are often caused. Also, because visual inspection is required, it is hard to achieve in-line integration between production process and inspection process. Therefore, LAON PEOPLE wanted to introduce AIPi solutions to solve these problems.

LAON PEOPLE developed a solution that reduces the frequency of actual defect occurrence by detecting caustic defect using AIPI SW with high performance AI algorithm. Clients can dramatically reduce the number of workers involved in visual inspection by one-third to one-fifth by simply adding SW while still using existing inspection equipment.
